We take safety very seriously at Josephine Caring Community. Our commitment to the well-being of our residents and staff means that we are prepared for various emergencies through comprehensive disaster plans.
Our Disaster Plan Overview
1. Written Plan:
We have a detailed written disaster plan that is reviewed and tested at least annually. This ensures that we stay current with best practices and can respond effectively in an emergency situation.
2. Hazard Preparedness:
The plan addresses a variety of potential hazards and emergencies, including natural disasters, fires, and other critical incidents that could affect the facility.
3. Staff Training:
All staff members are thoroughly trained on the procedures for carrying out the disaster plan, ensuring that everyone knows their role in an emergency.
4. Evacuation vs. Shelter-in-Place:
In certain emergencies, we may need to evacuate the facility and in situations, it may be safer to shelter-in-place. Our staff are trained to assess the situation and act accordingly.
5. Safe Zone for Evacuation:
In the event of an evacuation, our designated safe zone is located at the Stanwood Church Creek Campus of the Stanwood-Camano School District. This area is prepared to receive residents and ensure their safety.
6. Emergency Notifications:
In an emergency situation, designated representatives will be promptly notified through our established communication system. We prioritize keeping families informed during critical events.
7. Information Access:
Families can obtain information during an emergency by calling our main number at 360-629-2126.
8. Lock-Down Procedures:
In certain situations, we may need to implement lock-down procedures to protect residents and staff. Our trained staff will ensure that everyone understands the protocol and follows it swiftly.
9. Emergency Power:
We have emergency power systems in place to ensure that essential services remain operational during power outages, keeping our residents safe and comfortable.
10. Supply Chain Management:
Our facility maintains a robust supply chain to ensure that we have adequate resources available during an emergency including food, medical supplies and other essentials.
11. Transfer Agreements:
We have established transfer agreements with other providers and entities to facilitate safe and timely relocation of residents if necessary.
