Meet Saunya Hanson, Josephine at Home NAC caregiver and our March Customer Service trophy Winner.
Saunya has been an employee at Josephine Caring Community for over 22 years and this is her 3rd trophy win. She won the Hustle trophy in July 2019 and then the Teamwork trophy in March 2022 as part of The Suites at Josephine. She was also awarded the Employee of the Year award with Josephine at Home in January 2025. Below is her nomination letter from one of her client’s family member.
“It is my pleasure and without hesitation that I nominate Ms. Saunya Hanson for Josephine’s Customer Service Award. My nomination of Saunya is based on her more that 2 years of superlative hoe care that Saunya has provided at our residence on Camano Island. My wife has a progressive chronic disabling condition which requires the highest level of in home nursing assistant care. During this timeframe Saunya has assessed our family’s needs and provided routine and responsive rehabilitation services that have evolved and matched our family’s care needs. Saunya not only possesses a superlative nursing assistant skill set based on her training, continuing education and more than 20 years of clinical experience, but also affable personality and positive attitude. She is certainly an effective and clear communicator and anticipates next steps in her care plans. To offer just one example, she provides gentle reminders when home care supplies are running low and also models and suggests interventions that improve the health and safety of our family.
Saunya is always punctual and most importantly, has provided empathetic and compassionate care for the family. In my opinion, Saunya’s customer service has exceeded expectations on every element of healthcare customer service. Finally, it is worth nothing that my nomination and evaluation of Saunya’s customer service is based, in part, on my 35 year academic career as a faculty member at the University of Washington’s School of Nursing, when and where I monitored, supervised and evaluated the clinical and psychosocial skills of hundreds of nursing students over the years.”
Congratulations Saunya and thank you for everything you do for Josephine at Home’s staff, clients and families.
